Crime Alert - June 2, 2017
Recent Property Crime
Occurring in the late evening and early morning hours, an increase in theft from vehicles, garage burglaries, and the theft of motor vehicles have been observed during the past week. The incidents have occurred throughout the city in varying locations and the majority of vehicles and garages have been left unlocked. Some of the vehicles targeted have had valuable electronics and wallets in clear view of the suspect(s). Other vehicles have been rummaged through and spare change and other personal items stolen. The vehicles stolen have been unlocked and ignition keys left inside.
Surveillance video taken during the early morning hours of June 2nd shows a suspect attempting to open a vehicle car door. Anyone able to identify the suspect in the provided photograph is asked contact the Robbinsdale Police Department at (763)531-1220.
To reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim, remember to securely lock your vehicles and garage doors. Valuable personal items and spare change should be removed from vehicles, along with garage door openers that could allow a suspect to gain access to a garage. Spare keys should not be left inside of vehicles.
As a reminder, make sure to report suspicious activity to police by calling 911. Ensure to report suspect physical and clothing descriptions, vehicle information, direction of travel, and any other helpful information.
